We welcome May with the Gaelic celebration of Beltane, which marks the beginning of Mother Earth entering a new cycle of growth, fertility, and abundance. Although I do not practice or observe any Pagan or Wiccan/New Age holidays or rites, I do honor this blessed day by creating an abundant ritual altar of candles and flowers.
May 3rd, 2021: Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius will bring a strong desire for solitude. Sensitives and those developing their third eye will feel overloaded with psychic messages. Anxiety often heightens during this time. Excellent time to physically and spiritually cleanse the home. If anxiety about a particular potential outcome is present, nip the negative energy in the bud and prevent the outcome from manifesting. Energy flows where attention goes. Do not feed the potential problem or problematic outcome by drawing more energy to it! Obstruct the thoughts, energies, and buildup surrounding the potential undesired outcome by following the Block Undesired Manifestation Ritual.
May 8th, 2021: Venus enters Gemini, which causes many people to start thinking about love spells. Love triangles are often formed or come to light under this influence. This doesn't necessarily indicate anything dramatic, but simply a sudden desire to freely explore romance with more than one person. For example, if you are in a relationship, you may suddenly spot a new person of interest. It is an excellent time to begin planning a love spell - whether it's to draw a specific person into your life or increase self-love, invite a new awareness of love, and heal the heart chakra. The keyword here is plan - don't start your love spell on this day. Wait until May 14th!
May 11th, 2021 11:59am PST / 2:59pm EST: Dark Moon in Taurus intensifies our need for stability and practicality. Even the most eccentric and visionary personalities will suddenly feel the need to ground and get their mundane tasks in order. As with all Dark Moons, this is an excellent time for banishing rituals and cutting ties.
Put the energies of Dark Moon in Taurus to use if wanting to change your physical, feet-on-the-ground situation. Use the Resistance Release Ritual when your life calls upon sudden endings in order to open a path for new beginnings. Ideally used when it feels as though you are stuck in an undesirable situation or a negative thought pattern.

May 14th, 2021: Witch's New Moon is when the very first crescent or sliver of the Moon is visible. This is typically 2-3 nights after the Dark Moon. The moment you see the first crescent of the Moon, know that the Witch's New Moon is upon you.
With some variations, the Witch's New Moon rises in the daytime before noon and becomes visible in the day sky. It will be most visible at sunset and usually sets well before midnight. The Witch's New Moon is the same percentage all over the world - both in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. However, which way the tips of the Witch's New Moon point depend on the time, date, and your location on Earth.

The physical seemingly cannot keep up with the mental. There isn't enough time in the day to pursue every hobby, every person, and every adventure that you will be interested in. Boredom is everyone's kryptonite under this transit. May 23rd, 2021: Saturn Retrograde reminds us of our unfinished mandated tasks, obstacles, and obligations from the autumn of 2020. Life is cyclical. Understanding and tuning yourself to the undercurrent of the influences has profound power. Unfinished business, unfinished relationships, unfinished imbitions will cycle back to the forefront of the mind. The conditions set forth between now and early October may feel oppressive or restrictive. Usually, these are self-imposed restraints and a sense of being overwhelmed. Feeling as if somewhere along the way, you missed an exit to your destination and have suddenly realized that you have come full circle and are back to the starting point. Use the next four months to review and revise the unfished chapters of autumn 2020.
May 26th, 2021 4:13am PST / 7:13am EST: Full Moon in Sagittarius. The Moon rules our emotions, inner dialogue, and deeply held beliefs. May 26th's Lunar eclipse challenges the perceived experiences of the past and swiftly turns the page to a new chapter. As the polarising energies of the Moon and Sun heighten all senses, our rawest emotions are revealed.
The Full Moon will be in the sign of Sagittarius. It allows us to think creatively about our career, our place in the world, and how to best use this short time we have left on Earth. Desires to change occupations and/or move will be amplified. If possible, keep yourself buckled to your current situation until at least after the Witch's New Moon of July 12th.
The May 26th Full Moon is also known as the Blood Supermoon. Despite the ominous name, the Blood Moon gets its name from the reddish-orange glow the Moon takes on during an eclipse. On this brightly lit night, the Full Moon will be closest to the Earth and look more prominent in the sky. This makes it known as the Blood Supermoon Eclipse. The Full Moon in May is known as the Flower Moon. Other names include the Corn Planting Moon, the Milk Moon, and the Hare Moon.
If you are in Australia or New Zealand, you will witness roughly 14 minutes of a Total Lunar Eclipse. Those in the western United States and Southeast Asia will still be able to enjoy this phenomenon, though the entire eclipse will no be visible.
On a personal note, I find eclipses to be energetically draining. With the strong exception of the Sacred Full Moon Ritual, I withhold rituals for a later date, especially if these rituals require very specific outcomes.
Enjoy this evening; take it easy on yourself. Burn a Rosemary Smudge around your home. Smudge your physical and non-physical body, which includes the 3 feet below your feet' soles (you will need to sit or lay) and the 3 feet above your head. Scatter the ashes under the glow of the Full Moon.
